Woke up very very early to help my mum with tang yuan. It has been donkey years since i last woke up at 6 am in the morning nia. Actually, I didn't really help her make it.. I only help to roll the dough into balls. Actually hor, tang yuan is not too difficult to make. Which, I do not get why people would like to buy instead of make. At least try to make on Dong Zi, to maintain the tradition.

Finally met up with the Ex-CPFians. It has been a long while since I last met them! We went Swenson for dinner and chilled at TCC. They are really a bunch of funny and nice people! I laughed until I felt that my mouth is popping outta my face. Keke. Oh ya. Got my second Christmas gift from Francis. They exchanged gift but I opted out due to financial constraint. Still, Francis the nice guy got me a small gift. A cute Bobble Cat clock! So paiseh cos I din get anything for him except a card. haha..

Been meeting some friends who havent been in contact for awhile. It is tiredly but satisfying to see that some of them are progressing well.

These are some pictures took while we were at the sign signing performance at Bugis.

Yesterday, CAC's Arts from the Heart had a garang guni canvassing. Van van, Melvin, Ah Zi, Kenny and I formed a team and knocked doors to doors for old clothings and newspapers. I am still so tired!! Dun even feel like moving. But I feel a sense of achievement after reading Van's entry. I realized we have cleared 10 blocks!! I was so engrossed with the tiredness that I overlooked that we cleared 10 blocks and managed to collect 2 trunks of stuffs for this garang guni!! The 3 guys were so hilarious, their jokes really entertained us! Plus, the weather was kind to us. No rain at all! So everything progressed smoothly. Except that I overslept, quite a handful of residents did not receive any flyer regarding the collection thus they got ready the stuff in advance.

Made alot of discoveries today. I realized a lot of the door gates are very special!! Some even deorated the spaces outside their door. Some of them are really very nice. It is as though they are condos. I had so much joys in exploring them. And, one block even have security camera in the lift. There is this screen showing what is happening inside. I think I will feel safe with that implemented in my block sia!

Sometimes life is so scary. Unexpected events can strike at any moment. One minute healthy, the next body has problem. Sometimes, I wonder if I got a symptom of some illness, will I go to the doctor to get the truth?? My sister and I talked about it once. We both agreed that we would rather not go to the doctor and not know. It is like running away from the problem. Perhaps truth is too painful to bear...

my chocolate truffles!

Had a hard time with these truffles. The chocolate hardened very fast and I had to work fast! And and, the chocolates are expensive so I did not buy a lot. As a result, I lacked of chocolate! I thought they would turn out to be a failure but they taste okies! Happie happie! However, judging from the process it is only 50% successful. I need to practise more to fine tune the process so.. you all have to help me finish the truffles! Keke.

Hotdog spaghetti and ABC soups.

Got the photos taken during our hotdog spaghetti and ABC soup session. I had a fun time making our own lunch! Thank you so muchies for inviting me, PeiTing! You're so sweet!

touching day*

I am so touched today! I've received my first Christmas gift and Christmas card.

I got to meet up with Sabrina. I thought I was just passing her birthday gift and did not expect to receive a Christmas gift; I thought it is some souvenir from Bangkok. I am so touched. When I opened the gift, I was quite stunned. It was a Crabtree and Evelyn's hand therapy. I have always want to try the brand's product but it is way out of my budget. I am touched that Sabrina feels that I am worthy of such gift. I am touched that Sabrina is always so considerate towards my financial condition. She knows that I am financially tight ever since I go back to school. So whenever we go out for dinner, she will pay for the meal (since it is more expensive) and I will pay for something else that is cheaper. I feel stronger to strive on, with Sabrina's love and support. I love you, Sab!

After that I went on to meet Shan shan.. the dear gal made a Christmas card for me. I really did not expect it. I love it. I like the dangling bell on the Mistletoe is so cute! It was so sweet!! You are ever sweeter! Thank you so muchies, Shan Shan! Nice to meet ya, really! It is so nice to meet up with ya! Hope to cya soon!

where to these days?

061207 (Thursday)
Watched "The Golden Compass" with ChoonGuan and SoonWei at Vivocity. Nice movie! Not a moment of space out during the 2 hours. I love Iorek Byrnison, the polar bear! His courage and pride really make "him" the man of the show!

Everything went smoothly except for our dinner (breakfast cum lunch cum dinner for CG though). We couldn't decide where to eat and SW wana wait till 5pm before we filled our stomach. He was to make the decision as to where to eat (who ask him la, so choosy keke). He chose crystal jade but it would only open at 6pm. We couldn't wait that long. So, we randomly picked Swenson during our aimless walk. CG and I merely suggested it and SW just walked calmly. Only till we flipped through the menu, our jaws dropped! The main course cost more than $20. Even sandwhich cost at minimum $15. It turned out that it is not simply Swenson but the restaurant we were sitting in is Earle Swenson targeting at the up-class. In the end, we ordered a chocolate fondue as our appetizer before we proceed to Crystal Jade for dinner. Hais. Swenson's fondue really cannot make it!

Then, we were really suay! We waited for Crystal Jade to start service and found out that this Crystal Jade was special too! Simple noodle oso cost over $10. WTH?? Haha. Lousy luck and more walking around for us! In the end, we settle for Dian XIao Er. Nice FOOOD (yum yum), though the dishes were abit oily. Keke.

I dont know how it turned out that I have to plan a Christmas Eve outing now. But any suggestion as to do to do? still seriously thinking.

071207 (Friday)
Met up with Peiting today! It has been long since we last shop till we dropped. We went to Bugis Village for some retail therapy. Van is indeed right! There are so many color of skinny jeans. It comes to me as a surprise that teen boys wear skinny jeans too! I came across this group of boys, wearing different color of skinny jeans. Blue, Yellow and Green. Gosh. They were scary as a group!

I splurged! Hais. What's new. Lol.. Peiting and I went to Mac for dinner. We had Shaker Fries. YUmmY! After our dinner, we walked abit, touched the merchandises and took photos of the Christmas decorations in Parco...

After which, we went to Cold Storage to browse. Peiting decided to make sushi together the next day but dropped the idea due to high ingredient costs. So we decided to make spaghetti!

081207 (Saturday)
Woke up early to head over to Peiting's house for spaghetti and ABC soup making! Wooo! The ABC soup we made and Hotdog (super lotsa of hotdog) spaghetti were okies. Lol. Edible. We had a fun and full meal! Really appreciate it, Peiting, for inviting me over. Muacks, Peiting!

Finally got to meet up with SAN! Yipeeee! We went to town to walk walk! It has been a while since we walk around and window shop. Ah san is so cute. She kept talking about buying a pair of boot so she can wear in Japan. She wants to work in Hong Kong or Japan. Haha. I hope she will get the chance to lead tour in Japan or Korean! Go go, ah san! You can do it! =] We took some photos of the Christmas decorations!

I am missing Ah San already! Hope to see her soon!! My dearest, cutest and sweetest SAN! Muacks.

a thank you from my heart.

Why is he always there when I am feeling hopeless? Somehow, he always managed to appear at the final threshold and salvage me from disaster. Is this his humanitarian efforts? Is this his acknowledgment of my incompetency? I have no answer but I need to convince myself likewise to resist the emotions.

Ignorant fool, I am. Following their preaches, turning blind eyes to my intuitions of who he truly is. Turning my back against him, repaying his genuine concerns with insincere intentions. All along it was an illusion. They laughed and played with me, while he pulled me away from the verge of emotional breakdown down.

I am touched by your spirit of selfless giving. Although those you advised yesterday do not answer to my current situation, it inspires me. I want to thank you even though you will not read this. I hope somehow that thought would be magically brought to you. Thank you for always being there and asking for no return. Thank you for being yourselves. Thanks for remembering me even though I have not been the best of friend to you. Hope God would be kinder to you and gives you the best from now on.

Standard Chartered Marathon Pictures.

I kopped these pictures from our Drink Station leader, Ashley Mak's Facebook. Hoho. He said if we want photos, we can add him in Facebook. One fine day, I was looking at Facebook without knowing what to do and the idea of searching for his profile in Facebook database stroke me. I ended up "stealing" his photos and not adding him. keke. Hope I am not infringing on IP rights!

The photos he took are nice! Artistic! I wonder did he add any effect to the photos. They look very alive! This boy is talented! Go boy, take more nice photos! =D

my hair, my disaster

OMG. My hairs is disaster! I hate my itchy hands! Lol. You see, I wanted to cheer up my boring days so I decided to go and dye my hairs. And, because I am restrained financially, I could only go for DIY dye. I had never tried dying hairs myself, so the more I was convinced that i should try it. Viola! The recipe for disaster!

My dye is unfair. The ends of my hairs are so bright that I had to resort to cutting the ends away. Now I have short, messy and bright hairs! Arugh! My sister's boyfriend laughed at me. Said I look like ah lian! =[ Now if you are reading this, do me a flavor ya. Don't mention about my hairs!

Dying hairs can be a dangerous affairs. I was reading the instructions. Gosh. I felt like I was mixing chemicals to make a bomb. There are warnings like, Do not cap the bottle. It may burst due to pressure. For a whole 15 minutes, I could bring myself to mix the chemicals together. I fear for an explosion that will destroy my room. My heart was pumping like mad. Dots. I wonder are the terrorists able to make a bomb out of hair dye?

threading.

Finally, I get to try my whole face threading. Omg.. It was painful, especially on the cheeks and near the lips. Tears swelled in my eyes while she was doing her work. The dumbest thing was I put on mascara so my eyes looked more "alive". By the time she finished, my mascara smudged. There are patches of redness on my face. I feel itchy at first. But the effect was quite okies. My complexion looks clearer. However, I don't if I want to go through the pain again!

Going to rest! I am still feeling tired from marathon. Ciao~

STANDARD CHARTERED MARATHON @ 2nd DECEMBER 2007

I feel so honored to be about to participate in Standard Chartered Marathon 2007. Nup nup! I did not run 42.195km (I think I will be bedridden for 5 days if I ran for such a journey). By participating, I mean I was a volunteer, helping up at one of the Drink Station. It was a mega event! 40 000 runners from 52 nationalities took part! Wooo....

Although the marathon started at 530am, we had to be at Padang by 1am. We collected our tee and a bag of snacks for our breakfast. The tee was an Adidas crew neck tee. It was not ugly but too large. Still, I was kinda disappointed to get it cos the polo tee version was nicer! Haha. After we changed and gathered, we proceeded on to East Coast Park where our Drink Station (Drink Station 13) was situated. We shifted boxes of Ice Mountain and paper cups, but most of the times... we had nothing much to do. Haha. So Densie, Van and me chatted and joked around to keep ourselves occupied. We didn't get to watch the sunrise due to obstruction. =[

We got ready with all the cups and drinks, and waited anxious for our first "patron". Finally at 630 am, we had news that they were approaching!! We were so excited!! My gosh.. A few cars drove passed and announced that runners were closing and we had to stand by. Soon, the next car appeared. This one was special. It had digital clock on its roof. 1hr and XXmins it read. Then then... we could see the first runner! A black! I didn't give much thought but cheered as my anxiety got to the max! When he ran passed the drink station and grabbed a drink. I was stunned! He didn't not slow down to get a cup. Instead he maintained his speed and tried to grab one. If he failed, he would grab another one from the next table. A group of Kenya runners came along. They did the same. The moment they ran past, it was chaotic I tell you. Water was splashing and spilling everywhere as they did grab for their drinks in hurry. This is my first time seeing professional runners ran, I didn't know they are so professional, even for such a minor thing! Indeed an eye-opener!

After the elite runner group, the main body started to get closer. Van and I shifted to the first table. At there, it was a different kind of chaos. A lot of runners slowed down for a drink. The speed that we were filling the cups could not match their thirst. We had to work fast till the extend that we just poured without proper aiming. The whole table was so flooded. And I think I clumsily spilled quite a fair bit of water on Van (sorry van...)! Our clothes and shoes were all wet! But it was worth it. The runners worked so hard, I think the least we could do is to provide them some comfort.

Some runners were sweet! As we cheered for them, some said "thank you" despite the rush. Some thanked us for the drinks. Others voluntarily dumped their cups in our trash bags as we were picking up the cups from the ground! Of course, there were not so sweet people. The most "hated" one, I guess, got to be the last couple. Haha. We were sleepy and tired from having nothing to do after the crowd died off. We were looking forward for the last runner so we could pack up and go home. Our leader told us to look out for a car with clock like the first car. When the car finally appeared, this teen couple, who happened to be the last, was happily strolling, brisk walking and chatting on the way. One of the officials from the escort car signaled to us all kinda booing signs at them. You can't blame him really, cos the couple was strolling and laughing, feeling no pressure from by the fact that they were the last and the escort car was close behind them. Haha.

Nonetheless, I was so glad to be there to gain such an experience. I do not mind to join again as a helper next year. But.. for marathon participants, I guess many years later ba. I think I will need a whole day to cover the distance. If I join, I think they can only wrap up at night. Haha. Lastly, I want say I am happy to be at the marathon, to witness the Kenya runners doing stuff that they are good, and to raise from their subordination to prove that they have their strength and do not always have to depend on others for aid to survive. GO go go!!!
